Word for 2020 : Calm Courage
“Calm Courage”

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it’s the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.”

I remember the first time I heard this quote like it was yesterday. Still relevant, if not, more relevant than ever honestly. When I think of the word courage, I would paint myself a picture of a knight in red cape, riding a horse while yelling, “For the king!!!!” But when I ‘sense’ the word calm, all I imagine is always about water. Still water.

I asked God what do you mean with calm courage. When you go deeper into the unknown with Him (Frozen II references possibly), and as He draws near and touches you He gives you peace & strength. Peace that is deep-stilled within you and it’s yours to keep. Strength that is given to you to rise up, knowing that He has graced your next steps.

I’m grateful that it’s not just my words that God has always heard but also for the words He freely gives and releases whenever I ask. Even when some days I feel like just letting myself flat faced on the ground, He always comes near and lift me up to stand firm and move forward.

I’m thankful for the “c a l m c o u r a g e” to boldly step forward knowing that He has graced the other side.
